WOV Bible Studies for Spring 2012

The Heart of the Matter is Women of Vision's biblically-based, interactive study series. This study was crucial to the formation of WOV Austin!  It was through this study that many of us discerned God's will in our lives with respect to Women of Vision.  For more info or to RSVP, please e-mail Sally at wovaustin at gmail.com.  Low-cost childcare is available with advance reservation.  Study guides will be provided for a cost of $2 or you can print your own with the links below...

Hope in a World of Hurt is the first of three stand-alone modules in the Heart of the Matter series.  This first module is four lessons focusing on how Christians are called to respond to the needs of the poor, some root causes of poverty, being in relationship to those living in poverty, and how love is key to coming alongside those in need. The final chapter is the challenge to advocate for change.  Hope in a World of Hurt will meet twice a week on Mondays & Fridays Feb 27th-March 9th from 9am-11am at Bethany UMC, Rm D203/204. The goal is to cover all four sessions in just two weeks!  Childcare will cost  $3/child with a family max of $6 per event.  Ideally, reservations should be made one week in advance.

Communities Transformed with Change that Lasts is the second of three stand-alone modules in the Heart of the Matter series.  This second module is six lessons studying topics such as collaborative planning from the ground up and the specific impact of improving access to water, food, health, literacy and economic development. The study wraps up by recognizing how a holistic approach works best. This is excellent preparation for traveling or serving in developing communities. This study will meet on Monday mornings March 19th-April 30th from 9am-11am at Bethany UMC. Childcare will cost  $3/child with a family max of $6 per event.  Ideally, reservations should be made one week in advance.

(Module 3 is not yet published but we hope to offer it in 2013!)

Please join us and invite others!!   To RSVP, please e-mail Sally at wovaustin at gmail.com.
