Join us in prayer - updated for 2024

With all the crises in the world, it's important not to let worry and fear run rampant in our hearts and minds. Instead, let us pray together specifically and in agreement for God's Kingdom to come and His will to be done.

In light of all the shaking in the world, Lord, we claim Psalm 121 protection for all Your children in our coming and our going.  We acknowledge that our very lives are in Your hands. Thanks to You and Your son we are secure. That truth makes all the difference no matter our circumstances. Help us all to turn to You and find You. Help us to call on Your name and find a personal relationship with You, Our God who Saves. Equip Your church to persevere for Your glory. Bind up those who are suffering with illness, loss of a loved one or economic distress. Come Jehovah Jireh our Provider. Equip us to share the love of Christ with those who so desperately need You. Raise up righteous leaders in every sector of society to lead us in Your ways. May Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven, in Jesus' name, Amen.

A Prayer for WOV's World Vision Projects Areas
Lord, we are witnesses to the hope you are planting and harvesting all over the earth but especially in the areas you've called us to partner with You. So we pray together in confidence and thanksgiving for:
  1. Righteous men and women to lead Your countries of Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Kenya, Syria, and all those experiencing conflict and natural disasters at every level of society - in churches, schools, local, regional and national governments as well as hospitals and all systems intended to care for Your people. Thank you that no evil can prosper without answering to You.
  2. We pray for Psalm 91 safety and well-being of all of Your people in these areas doing Your work, including World Vision staff and their families and friends and Your church. We pray against plagues like Covid, Dengue Fever, Malaria or Ebola -- that lives would be protected thanks to the immune systems and medicines You created. Be our strong tower, Lord.
  3. We pray for our World Vision economic empowerment and child protection projects in Central America, areas with ongoing refugee crises, and child protection in Kenya. May Your storehouses of favor be unleashed for each of these efforts to bring John 10:10 fullness of life. Thank you for giving community leaders and World Vision staff Your wisdom, knowledge, understanding, discernment and revelation as they make decisions in Jesus' name.
Pray for the Millions Struggling with Famine and Food Shortages
Good Shepherd, we pray for cooperation and support for life-saving assistance to people struggling from food insecurity around the world. Send life-giving rains at just the right time, create good conditions for families to grow food for their survival, and cease conflict so Your children will no longer go to bed hungry and afraid each night.

Loving Provider, Isaiah 58:10 tells us that if we give ourselves on behalf of the hungry, then our light will shine in the dark. Thank You for those who are shining lights, and please call forth others to make a difference. Be a fortress against danger for World Vision’s staff who work in Your name to feed the hungry. Continue to use relief workers to bring not only much-needed food but to also show Your love so people can be fed spiritually and physically.
