Read then meet author & HIV/AIDS activist Princess Zulu!

Praise you Lord in Heaven for leading Princess Zulu to our doorstep!  Hearing Ms. Zulu's witness both via her book and firsthand at our luncheon confirmed our support of Matete, Kenya.

Per World Vision, Kenya's prevalence for HIV/AIDS is 6%.  The children in Matete are considered "Hope" sponsored children because their community has been severely affected by HIV/AIDS.  Our chapter has committed to sponsoring children from Matete going forward so that we can indeed bring hope that God hears their prayers!  We especially thank our partners and friends, including the many women from Chicktime, Inc who attended our luncheon on Sept 12th.  We also thank Austin Chinese Church for graciously hosting us and supporting our mission!  You are all answers to our prayers!  In the words of Ms. Zulu, let us leave a lasting legacy...let us DO  something.  And in our combined doing...God's will on earth will be done as it is in heaven!  Thank you Father, for Princess' honesty and passion to help others.  Protect her, give her strength and energy to run the race you have set out before her.  We ask the same for each and every Woman of Vision so that the women and children we're being called to help will feel your love & care.  In Jesus' name, Amen.

Original Post follows:
Please join us on August 16th at 7pm as we hold a one-evening book discussion on Princess Zulu's book,  Warrior Princess.  Ms. Zulu is the World Vision speaker who will officially kick off Step into Africa here in Austin at Bethany UMC on Monday, Sept 12th at 7pm.   Because of our affiliation with World Vision, WOV Austin is privileged to host Ms. Zulu as our keynote speaker for our September Meeting.  We'd love to have you join us as we educate ourselves about this important issue!

  1. Thank you to those who could make it to the book discussion! We missed those of you who couldn't be there, but we really enjoyed discussing this inspiring book. We discussed everything from whether Ms. Zulu was safe as she traveled the highways with the truckers, to the role of prophesy in God's preparation of her purpose in life. Not to mention how even though Ms. Zulu was away from her daughters so much when they were younger, how God provided for their nurturing and how He gave them understanding so they could support their mother's calling. We are thankful to our own families for supporting our work and the time it requires. Thank you God for preparing our hearts and the hearts of those we love. We pray Moffat found peace with himself and you God in the end. Thank you for this book, Lord, and Princess' voice crying out in the darkness for your light to shine!

  2. A big thank you to Sally for hosting the twelve of us! And thank you to her husband and son who helped her prepare, then headed out to a movie before being invaded!
